Old Settlers Park

On Sunday we went far north to play Old Setters Park, next to the Dell Diamond in Round Rock.  We played this course last year and it was fun to give it another try.  This course is more of a bomber's course instead of a technical course.  Most holes are wide open shots and many are very, very long.  There is water to contend with and we found it a few times.  Today's group consisted of:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Brian, Keith and myself.  Temperatures were in the lower 80's, abundant sunshine and just enough wind to cause problems.

Course conditions were good, looks like they just mowed some of the fairways.  I think they shortened #4 to be only very long instead of crazy long.  We did have to contend with orange plastic netting that was put up in conjunction with the holiday lights.  We did not encounter any other groups playing the course but there were people walking and jogging across the fairways.

Only one birdie today, Steve.  I had a legitimate shot at at birdie but missed a ten foot putt, damn wind.

Three discs lost, I lost one of my favorites, my Orion on #2,  my setup shot went past the basket into the deep, scummy water.  No chance of recovery.  Steve and Lif both lost discs on #16, teeing off the dam.  Dave and I almost lost discs there also but Dave was able to recover both of them.

Afterwards, Lif, Keith and I went to the Salt Lick for some tasty BBQ.

Circle C

It was another nice day for disc golf at Circle C.  We had a large group today with:  Steve, David, Keith, Lif, Bob, Brian, Micah and myself.  The skies were mostly sunny, temperatures in the 70's and only a slight breeze.  Almost perfect.  The course was rather crowded and we were slowed down a few times by the group ahead of us.  We also let several smaller groups and their dogs play through.

David had several strong throws today, he came close to making an eagle on number 1.  Steve was able to make par on both par five holes today.  I did not play too badly today, I had a couple of disaster holes and I missed an easy putt due to a momentary loss of concentration. I had one birdie, I could have had two more but I missed two relatively easy putts.

A total of 11 birdies were made today:  Brian(4 - three in a row), Lif(2), Keith(2), Steve(1), David(1) and Rob(1).  No discs lost, no discs found.
