Been a long time since we've played Bart. Today's players were: Lif, Dave, Keith, Chris, Darden and Heady. It was a sweaty day with temperatures in the upper 80's, high humidity and low wind. Course conditions were fair, it could use a little love. There were only a couple of other solo players on the course.
It's been at least 10 years since I've played Bartholomew Park in East Austin. I like this course. The holes aren't crazy long, there is a lot of variety, elevation changes and water hazards. There is a lot of trash in the park, most of that is washed down in the creek after heavy rains. The course does need concrete tee pads, more benches and trash cans. Some areas are overgrown and poison ivy is prevalent.
I played alright today, my arm injury from last week was not much of a factor. I did choke on three or four putts. But I did make a couple of long ones. I had the shot of the day with a 75 foot birdie on #5 with Nick Mata. Lif and Chris tied for low score with even par. Darden had a real bad front nine and a real good back nine.
There were nine birdies today: Chris(4), Lif(2), Heady(2) and Big Dave(1). No discs found and one disc lost by Darden, somewhere in a sea of poison ivy.
